[Outside
Kelly's]
(Dillon walks up and one of Alcazar's guys stands in front of him. Dillon
tries to step to the side but the guy continues to stand in front of
him, not letting Dillon by)
Dillon: Excuse me.
Guy: Mr. Alcazar has a job for you.
Dillon: Well tell him thanks but no thanks
ok? (Tries to leave but the guy steps in front of him) Look, he asked
me to deliver a letter. I delivered it. What more do you want from me?
Guy: Yeah, you didn't follow instructions.
He doesn't like that.
Dillon: Well tell him that I'm very sorry
about that. I...I didn't mean it. I did the best...
Guy: You'll make a phone call when you
see a certain boat. 100 upfront. 100 after the call
Dillon: Well, last time, it was 500
Guy: Go to Pier 52 and wait. (Leaves)
(Georgie turns the corner)
Georgie: What was that all about?
Georgie:
Who was that guy?
Dillon: Uh, he works for Alcazar. Apparently,
I have another job offer.
Georgie: Is it dangerous?
Dillon: You shouldn't be asking me about
this. You know that.
Georgie: I won't tell anyone, I swear.
Dillon: (pulls her aside) There is a boat.
It's coming into town tonight. I'll make a phone call. Bam...200 bucks
Georgie: What if it's smuggling for something?
I mean, that's a major felony.
Dillon: Well, yeah, but I'm just making
a phone call. And besides, you add this $200 to the 500 we already got,
we can go to New York City and watch movies for, like days.
Georgie: Are you insane?
Dillon: No, I'm not insane. Listen to me...look,
look we get on the train, OK? We get to a hotel there, we can see about
15 different independent films that only get distribution in New York
City and LA.
Georgie: Yeah, yeah if you live to buy
the tickets.
Dillon: Would you stop worrying huh? (Kisses
her)
(They break apart when Mac comes out)
Mac: Georgie!
Georgie: Mac, this is not what you think.
Dillon: Yeah, she didn't...she didn't know
I was going to be here.
Mac: Why aren't you dressed for candy striping?
Georgie: I called in sick
Mac: You don't look sick.
Georgie: It's volunteer work Mac, they
don't really care.
Mac: I care. You need to start acting
responsibly like your older sister.
Dillon: What? You're kidding, right?
Georgie: No...
Mac: Get out of here.
Georgie: It's OK
Dillon: No, no it's not OK When are you
going to get that Georgie is 10 times as good as Maxie? why don't you
see that?
Mac: Don't make me tell you again.
(Dillon sighs and leaves)
Georgie: You really want me to be like
Maxie?
Mac: She's starting to take responsibility
for her life. She's proving that I can trust her again, Georgie. I'd
like to be able to trust you too.
Mac:
I'm sorry I compared you to Maxie. It isn't fair. But if your sister
can turn her life around, so can you. That's all I'm saying.
Georgie: (Turns around) I don't want to
be like Maxie, believe me.
Mac: Then be the way you were before Dillon.
Georgie: Why do you hate him so much?
Mac: Dillon isn't a bad kid.
Georgie: You're right. He's wonderful.
Mac: But he's rich and spoiled and essentially
unsupervised. He lives in a house full of lunatics who's only solution
to a problem is to throw money at it. Dillon may be headed for serious
trouble.
Georgie: No, he isn't.
Mac: Will you let me know if he gets in
over his head?
Georgie: Does that mean I can hang out
with him?
Mac: No. (Leaves)

[Pier 52]
Dillon: Look, I've been thinking about
this, ok? This ain't going to happen.
Man:
Watch for a cargo ship with a Swiss flag, ok? You know what that looks
like?
Dillon:
Yes, but i don't -
Man:
You'll see flashes of light. A signal. One long, two short. Do you understand?
And when you see the signal, you'll hit speed dial one right here.
Dillon:
What's on the boat?
Man:
You ask questions like that, you disappear. Here's 100. You'll get the
other when you finish the job. Don't mess up this time.
Dillon:
You know, you need to find somebody else for this, ok?
Man:
Mr. Alcazar is giving you a second chance. You should be grateful.
Dillon:
Ok, fine. I'm grateful, I'm very grateful, but I'm not the right person
for this job, ok?
Man:
What do you mean, you're not the right person? You took mr. Alcazar's
money before. You're holding his money in your hand right now.
Dillon:
Take it. I don't want it.
Man:
No, no.
Dillon:
Take it back.
Man:
No, it's too late. You're in, kid. There's no way out.
[Pier 52]
(Dillon waits for the boat to approach. He uses his binoculars and sees
the boat)
Dillon: There you are. (Starts to dial
the phone but somebody grabs him from behind and knocks him out)
